Pioneers take SVC lead
In a well played game that saw a total of 14 turnovers and 146 total points, it was Zane Trace that received a huge lift from a variety of people to capture a 75-71 win over Piketon. The win improves ZT to 6-1 in the SVC and the loss drops Piketon to 5-2.

Piketon jumped out fast in this game opening up a 13-0 lead only to see ZT storm back to catch them by halftime at 31-31. The second half was a tight battle, but the second of two Drew Davis triples gave ZT a lead in the fourth quarter that they would not relinquish. The Pioneers sealed the game with solid shooting from the charity stripe down the stretch.

Piketon held ZT’s Kirk Maxwell to 11 points (nine points below his season average); however, Zane Trace’s Gabe Haynes and Davis both scored 14 points and Joel Tripp scored a team-high 21 points to lead the Pioneers.

In the losing effort, Piketon’s Evan Legg was outstanding. The junior guard scored a game-high 28 points.
