ZT flirts with 100 in blowout win
Five Pioneers in double-figures
Zane Trace had it going early and often over at Huntington Tuesday night as the red, white, and blue used a 9-0 second quarter run to open up an 18 point lead at the break. The second half was more of the same as the Pioneers rolled to a 92-49 win. The win – along with Piketon’s 49-44 win over Unioto – sets up an SVC showdown Friday night at Zane Trace.

The key in the first half run for ZT started on the defensive end. A pair of Rick Chamberlin blocks led to some run-out baskets. The three-point shot also played a big role in the win. Zane Trace hit eight total shots from deep to account for a quarter of their points.

Kirk Maxwell hit three of those triples on his way to a team-high 23 points. He was joined by four other Pioneers in double-figures as Drew Davis scored 13 points and Gabe Haynes, Joel Tripp, and Chamberlin all scored 10 points.

For Huntington, Dylan Gragg continued his solid sophomore season with 17 points. Kyle Deal and Cole Addy both added 10 points for the Huntsmen.
