Straight from the tip Tuesday night, Westfall had the game in an up-tempo, chaotic pace that completely favored the Mustangs. Huntington, who battled foul trouble for much of the first half, was able to survive, and they trailed by only eight at 32-24 at the break.
In the third quarter, Westfall knocked down three triples in the early going to stretch the lead back to double-digits, and the Mustangs never really looked back. Point guard Bryant Gibson scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Tyler Kritsch was equally impressive scoring 17 points and pulling down 16 boards to lead Westfall to a 70-52 win.
The victory leaves WF just one win away - Friday night at Adena - from an SVC title. The title will be shared with Piketon if the Redstreaks take care of business at Unioto Friday.
In the win, Tyler Cobb continued his all-around great play with nine points and 11 rebounds. Tyler Burleson scored 11 points and Travis Burleson added eight points.
In the loss, Huntington was led by Craig Magill and Drew Trusty with 13 points and Corey Cottrill added 12 points.
