The stage is set for regional action in Athens. These four elite programs make yet another trip to the sweet sixteen. The winners will meet Saturday for a trip to the final four at Wright State.
In game one, two-time defending regional champion Alexander will take the Convo floor against Westfall. These two opponents own the last five southeast regional crowns with Westfall heading to the final four in 2002, 2003, and 2004, while the Lady Spartans represented the southeast in 2006 and again in 2007, where they finished runner-up with a four-set loss to Lima Central Catholic.
SVC fans - in order to learn more about Alexander, click here to read an article I had written earlier in the year on Alexander volleyball. Please keep in mind it was in the preseason, so some things have possibly changed; however, it gives you a nice understanding of their players and how they will match-up with the Lady Mustangs.
In the second match, Adena represents the SVC's second chance of the night to reach the elite eight. The Lady Warriors will clash with Tusky Valley. Tusky is no stranger to the sweet sixteen. and they are no stranger to Adena. In fact, the two-shade blue knocked Tusky from the regional tournament a year ago.
