Thursday night at Jaycees Golf Course the eight Scioto Valley Conference schools got together for SVC Match #6. In terms of team scores, it was Unioto once again posting the winning total. The Shermans posted a 156 - a score that was 12 strokes better than second-place Southeastern.

Huntington finished third with a score of 175. The Huntsmen were led by Duane Irvin. Irvin shot a medalist round Thursday night as the defending conference Player of the Year carded a 36. Irvin's round was two shots better than Unioto's Colton Forcum giving Irvin a slight advantage in this year's POY race heading into next week's final two rounds at Foxfire Golf Course.

The overall league scoring was a little higher than earlier in the year, but other rounds in the 30's Thursday included Unioto's Ricky Currier with a 38 and Zane Trace's Michele Schambs with a 39.

With Unioto's sixth straight win, the Tanks are obviously on their way to another conference title, but the race for second continues to be a battle. With Southeastern beating Huntington at Jaycees, the two teams are now tied with the 18-hole match coming up next Thursday. The standings also have three teams within three points of one another in the fourth, fifth, and sixth spots.
