| For a second straight game, the Unioto Lady Shermans dominated their opponents before a big crowd at the “U” rolling past the visiting Southeastern Lady Panthers 81-27 Saturday afternoon to stay unbeaten.
The high-octane Tanks (4-0, 3-0 SVC) have now posted conference game margins of victory of 114 points in the span of three days, after polishing off Westfall by 60 on Thursday. College-bound point guard Shiann Ray did it all for the Shermans – 21 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. A highlight was a fabulous second-half, coast-to-coast lay-up off of a defensive rebound at the low post. Ray shook her opponent with a snazzy behind-the-back dribble and was off to the races. Sophomore guard Janae Driggs pumped in 15 while Chloe Cottrell added 12 points and 8 assists. Senior Taylor Karshner came off the bench to score 11. Sophomore pivot Mackenzie Arledge scored 8 points, all in the first half before injuring an ankle. Senior Taylor Corcoran chipped in with 7. For Southeastern (1-3, 1-2), junior Catherine Dresbach led with 12 points. Addison Prater added 5. Up next for the Tanks is a road test on Thursday at Zane Trace. Southeastern visits Adena on Thursday. |
