|Scoring combo of Gumm to Bane gives Unioto a draw in season opener
Unioto took the long trip north to get their 2010 season underway. The Lady Tanks started fast as a pair
of Morgan Gumm to Erin Bane goals gave the purple and gold a 2-0 advantage, but Cleveland Orange
responded with two goals of their own to end the game in a 2-2 tie.
In other action, the Lady Pioneers of Zane Trace started the season with a 5-3 win over the Lady Blue
Lions of Washington Court House.

|TWO SECOND HALF GOALS LIFT UNIOTO TO COME-FROM-BEHIND WIN
It was Circleville getting on the board first Saturday, but it was Unioto scoring twice after halftime to post
a 2-1 victory. Morgan Gumm assisted both goals with the first coming on an Erin Bane header and the
second from Jenny Campbell. After allowing the early goal, Unioto's defense led by the great play of
Lydia Simpson and goalie Kyleen Muirhead pitched a shutout the rest of the way out. The win moves
Unioto to 1-0-1.
In other soccer action Saturday evening, the Lady Pioneers of Zane Trace lost to Bishop Hartley
4-0. In boys' soccer, both Unioto and Zane Trace posted wins. Unioto beat Hillsboro 2-0 and Zane
Trace defeated Bishop Hartley 2-1.

|Lady Shermans fall to Columbus DeSales
Unioto was down just 1-0 to the D-I power at halftime Tuesday night, but the great depth of DeSales
was able to take control of Unioto in the second half outscoring the purple and gold 4-1 in the second
half to post a 5-1 final score. Erin Bane scored the only Unioto goal on a penalty kick.
In other action, Zane Trace girls got beat by Columbus School for Girls 4-0. In boys, Logan beat Zane
Trace 2-0 and
|Thursday, September 2nd - Girls Soccer - Unioto beats Alexander
Danielle Williamson and Lydia Simpson both had unassisted goals and Morgan Gumm had a goal assisted
by Erin Bane for a 3-0 half time lead. Bane scored a goal assisted by Gumm in the second half to
complete a 4-0 win over Alexander.
|Lady Shermans pitch shutout to record road win at Fairfield Union
Unioto scored two goals in the first half and two more in the second to record a 4-0 win Saturday at
Fairfield Union. Morgan Gumm to Lydia Simpson got the scoring started and then Jenny Campbell,
Abbey Bates, and Erin Bane all added unassisted goals. Unioto is now 3-1-1 on the season.
In other Saturday soccer action, Unioto and Waverly played to a 1-1 tie in boys' soccer. As for Zane
Trace, the boys' team beat Washington Court House 6-0 and the Lady Pioneers lost to Hathaway 9-0.
|BOYS: Unioto defeated Miami Trace 2-0. Circleville beat Adena 5-0. Zane Trace was in action
Tuesday against Alexander.
GIRLS: Unioto and Logan Elm was rescheduled for September 27th.

|Unioto opened up a 3-1 halftime advantage Saturday only to see Washington Court House score the
first two goals of the second half to tie things up at 3-3. Unioto then answered with three goals to win it
6-3. Erin Bane scored twice and assisted on four other goals. Jenny Campbell recorded a hat trick while
teammate Kyleen Muirhead added the other Unioto goal. Morgan Gumm dished out one assist as well.

In other action Saturday, the Lady Pioneers beat Jackson 8-0. The Zane Trace boys were in action at
South Webster, but no score has been reported to SVCsportszone.
|Unioto girls win SVC soccer battle
In girls' soccer Tuesday night, Unioto went on the road and defeated SVC rival Zane Trace 3-1. Unioto
got on the board first when Erin Bane hit Ashley Flautt for a goal. The lead stretched to 2-0 when
Morgan Gumm scored an unassisted goal. The Lady Pioneers cut the lead in half when Amelia Halley
scored on a free kick, but a Bane unassisted second-half goal gave Unioto the two point win.
Beyond the scoring, a big key for Unioto in this win was the play of their defense. Lydia Simpson and
Mallory Retherford both played outstanding defense as did Jenny Campbell at midfield. This helped
goalie Kyleen Muirhead limit the red, white, and blue to just one goal as the Lady Shermans recorded a
great team win.
UNIOTO & ZANE TRACE BOYS BOTH POST WINS THIS WEEK
In other action this week, the Unioto boys recorded a 3-1 win over Lucasville Valley on Monday night.
On Tuesday night, the Zane Trace boys defeated Fairfield Union 2-1. The Pioneers first goal came on a
Tyler Vanbuskirk to Kyle Shifflett goal and the second was scored by Jeff Arledge from Kam Wolfe.
Joel Tripp recorded seven saves.

UNIOTO GIRLS WIN AGAIN
All the scoring in this one happened before the half. Unioto scored twice early with goals coming from Danielle Cremeans to Erin
Bane and then Bane to Jenny Campbell. Amanda scored to cut the lead to 2-1, but Kyleen Muirhead in goal along with Morgan
Gumm at midfield and Mallory Retherford and Lydia Simpson on defense helped secure the win.
|Unioto girls win Thursday night over Leesburg Fairfield
Unioto was in control of this one from start to finish as the purple and gold rolled to a 7-0 win over
Leesburg Fairfield Thursday night. Erin Bane scored twice for Unioto and assisted on two other goals.
Morgan Gumm scored twice as well while teammate Lydia Simpson scored a goal and assisted on one
also. Kyleen Muirhead and Ashley Flautt each added a goal to complete the Unioto scoring in the win.

In soccer action on Saturday, the Lady Pioneers of Zane Trace recorded a 3-1 win over Logan. On the
boys' side, Zane Trace and Wheelersburg played to a 3-3 tie.
|Lady Tanks keep on winning
This match got started back on September 7th before weather forced the game to stop. On Monday,
the restart of this match saw the first half end with Logan Elm's Nikki Grambo scoring to give Logan Elm
a 1-0 advantage. Unioto responded with three second half goals to send the home fans home happy.
Erin Bane scored two of the goals for the purple and gold. Jenny Campbell scored a goal and assisted
another while Mallory Retherford, who along with Lydia Simpson was outstanding once again on
defense, recorded an assist.

Miami Trace scored first Saturday, but Unioto quickly answered with a Danielle Williamson goal to tie the game. Unioto then
grabbed the lead when Kyleen Muirhead scored on an unassisted goal. With Unioto up 2-1 at the half, it was Miami Trace that
scored first to tie the match at 2-2, but Jenny Campbell, who assisted Williamson's first half goal, assisted Muirhead and then Erin
Bane on second half goals to give Unioto the 4-2 win.
In other soccer action Saturday, Adena lost to Franklin Heights 7-0.
|Flautt leads shutout while Bane records hat trick in Unioto's win over Minford
Unioto welcomed Minford on Saturday and goalie Ashley Flautt helped lead a Unioto defense - which
included a great effort from Lydia Simpson - to a 5-0 victory. On the offensive side of things, Erin Bane
had a huge day. Bane recorded three goals before halftime and then assisted a Kyleen Muirhead second
half goal to complete the scoring. Muirhead also scored Unioto's other first half goal on a double assist
from Morgan Gumm and Jenny Campbell. Danielle Cremeans added a pair of assist for Unioto as well.
In other girls' soccer Saturday, Zane Trace beat Eastern Brown 1-0.
|Unioto blanks Lady Cavs to win Ross County Cup
A pair of varsity rookies - Natalie Neff and Jenny Campbell - put Unioto up 2-0 in the first half Tuesday
night, and then Erin Bane added two second half goals to give the Lady Shermans a 4-0 win over
Chillicothe. In the second half, Campbell assisted Bane's first goal, and the second goal was assisted by
Morgan Gumm. Once again Unioto's defense was outstanding. Ashley Flautt had three saves and Kyleen
Muirhead had seven saves. Lydia Simpson continued her great defensive play as well. Unioto will travel
to Jackson on Saturday.
In other soccer action Tuesday, Northwest beat Adena 1-0.

|Postseason soccer gets underway Monday night
In D-III, Adena lost a tough first-rounder to Minford Monday night as the Falcons downed the
Warriors 7-6 on penalty kicks. In Division II girls' tournament action, Unioto beat McClain 7-0. The
Zane Trace Lady Pioneers were also a first-round winner as they beat Alexander 3-0.

|In Division II boys' soccer, Zane Trace advanced with a 6-0 win over Hillsboro.
Unioto lost in double-overtime to Chillicothe 1-0.
|GIRLS SOCCER = Division II Sectional Finals = Thursday, October 21st
|Unioto captured the sectional championship with a 2-0 win over Fairfield Union. Unioto out-shot their
opponent 20-7 as Erin Bane scored both goals for the winners. Lydia Simpson dished out an assist in
the win while Ashley Flautt and Kyleen Muirhead both delivered some great defensive play. Next up
for Unioto is Lynchburg Clay. This match will take place at Jackson Tuesday night at 5 p.m.
Zane Trace lost to Circleville 1-0 in Thursday's sectional final.

|Zane Trace beat Circleville 1-0 in Saturday's Division II boys' soccer sectional title match.
|Campbell scores to lift Unioto to Saturday's district championship
This match was moved from last night (due to weather) to Wedensday night at Jackson High School.
Unioto's Jenny Campbell scored the only goal of the night to give Unioto the 1-0 win over Lynchburg
Clay. In the other semifinal, Eastern Brown beat Circleville 1-0. Unioto and Eastern Brown will return to
Jackson on Saturday to play for the district title.
At Lucasville Valley, Zane Trace's boys had their season come to an end as the Pioneers lost to Marietta 5-1.

Lady Shermans capture the district title with a win over Eastern Brown
Saturday in Jackson the Unioto girls' soccer team defeated Eastern Brown 3-2 to capture the 2010
district title. Unioto got on the board first when Ashley Flautt found Erin Bane for a goal. After Eastern
Brown scored to tie the match, Bane assisted Jenny Campbell to give Unioto a 2-1 halftime lead. Eastern
Brown scored first in the second half to tie the match again, but Unioto's Morgan Gumm provided the
game winning goal. The great defensive effort was led by Lydia Simpson. Kyleen Muirhead added seven
saves in the win as well. Unioto will now head to the Sweet 16. Their regional semifinal will be
Wednesday at Zanesville where Unioto will face Warsaw Riverview at 7 p.m.

Lady Shermans defeat Warsaw Riverview to advance to the Elite Eight
Unioto defeated Warsaw Riverview 3-2 Wednesday night in a thrilling, double-overtime Division II Girls'
Soccer Regional Semifinal. The match was tied at 2-2 when Jenny Campbell scored the double-overtime
goal for the purple and gold to win it. Unioto goals in regulation were scored by Natalie Neff and Kyleen
Muirhead. Erin Bane dished out two assists in the win as well.
Unioto will now play in the regional championship this Saturday against the winner of Bexley and
Two for the Tanks
Bane earns first-team on the girls' side, Hill a member of the second team for the boys
In the recent release of the All-Ohio soccer selections, a pair of Unioto players earned this special honor.
On the girls' side, junior Erin Bane was named to the Division II First-Team, and for the boys, senior
Corbin Hill earned a spot on the Division II Second-Team.
