Lady Pioneers
looking to put SVC in
"Sweet 16" in both
Saturday, March 7th * CONVO * Athens, OH
Five SVC teams are still alive in the postseason and all five will take center stage in Athens this weekend.
It's ladies first...as Unioto and Zane Trace are both in action on Saturday, before Westfall, Piketon, and
Zane Trace play on Sunday.

On the girls side, Unioto and Zane Trace are representing the SVC in different brackets. The Lady
Shermans are Division II and the Lady Pioneers are in Division III. Both will be playing for district titles.

On the boys side, it is a different story. The two SVC champions - Piketon and Westfall - are not only
looking for a win to reach the district title game, but the bracket would have these two head-to-head if
that ends up being the case. Piketon did win both times against Westfall this season; however, it would
take Piketon pulling off the Mustang hat trick if they were to meet again with the Sweet 16 on the line.

As for Zane Trace, their road as been interesting. In round one, they were a Huntington free throw away
from being one-and-done, but a charity stripe miscue and a Gabe Haynes triple and how things change.
The Pioneers rolled in overtime and then beat a higher-seeded Peebles team soundly in the final.

On Sunday, the trio of SVC teams are asking for a
