In a pair of physical, hard-fought defensive
struggles, a pair of SVC teams beat two of the top
Division II programs Saturday night. Adena beat
McClain 45-43 and Zane Trace defeated Vinton
County 38-36.

The win for Adena keeps them pefect at 6-0. On a
night where Clay Roll was held in check, the other
Warriors were up to the challenge as Buddy
Barnes scored 12 points, Ben Bower scored 9
points, and Zach Skaggs and Eamon Boyle both
added 8 points to earn the win.

For Zane Trace, it was Rick Chamberlain
recording a big block on a potential Vinton County
basket with a few seconds remaining. Kirk
Maxwell scored 12 points to lead the Pioneers to
the win. Gabe Haynes added 11 points.
