Piketon survives late WF run to reach Sweet 16
Saturday evening in Athens was round three for the SVC Co-Champs. Piketon had won the first two meetings and the Redstreaks won this one as well. Westfall did not go quietly, but in the end, it was too much Jordan Brabson as Piketon wins it 78-71 to secure a spot in Wednesday's regional tournament against unbeaten North Adams.

The Piketon Redstreaks were in control and it appeared on their way to an easy district finals win, but the senior-loaded Mustangs had one last run left in them. With Piketon in serious foul trouble on the frontline, Tyler Kristch and Tyler Cobb started dominating the paint and the glass. At one point, Westfall outscored Piketon 14-1 to cut the Piketon lead from 16 down to three.

Now it was Westfall's turn to face foul trouble. Bryant Gibson was forced to go to the bench with four fouls with about six minutes to play. Piketon stretched the lead back to nine and held on for the title.

Brabson continued his incredible postseason play with 32 points and 15 rebounds. Brabson is now averaging just under 30 ppg. in the tournament. Cody Smith added 17 points and nine rebounds for Piketon and Evan Legg chipped in 12 points and eight assists.

For Westfall, Tyler Kritsch had a monster night. In his final career game, Kritsch scored 18 points and grabbed 19 rebounds. Tyler Cobb also scored 15 points and pulled down eight boards, while Gibson scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out nine assists. The Mustangs ended with four in double-figures as Tyler Burleson added 10 points.
