Redstreaks fall to CCC in Final Four
Piketon's Evan Legg scored the first bucket in Thursday night's Final Four
match-up between Piketon and Cleveland Central Catholic, but that 2-0 lead
would be the only lead the Redstreaks would own in a 76-52 loss.

Piketon managed only four shot attempts in the first quarter as the Redstreaks
fell behind 15-5. The second quarter brought on foul trouble to Legg and more
offensive troubles. The Redstreaks managed only 14 first half points as the two
teams went to the break with CCC leading by 20.

Piketon responded after the half. The Redstreaks scored the first 10 points after
halftime to cut the lead to 10 at 34-24. Piketon would get within 10 two more
times; however, the Redstreaks never did get it to single digits.

The final punch came at the end of the third period. Piketon was still down just
13 points, but a long three-pointer at the buzzer stretched the lead back to 16 and
the Redstreaks never did recover.

Piketon was led by their 1,000 point seniors in Cody Smith and Jordan Brabson.
Smith scored 19 points and Brabson added 15 points.

Piketon played even on the glass and did shoot 45-percent from the floor, but
6-14 from the charity stripe and 20 turnovers were two stats that hurt the
Redstreaks in the semifinal loss.

Piketon finishes the season at 24-3. The streaks finish the season with a share of
a league title, a sectional championship, a district crown, a regional title, and the
first SVC boys' state semifinalist finish in nearly 20 years.
