Paint Valley's Tyler Thompson shot a
tournament-low round of 77 to earn the individual
title at Monday's Huntington Invite at Dogwood
Hills. The junior carded a pair of birdies on his way
to the six-over total.

Southeastern's Eli McKee was one shot back at 78,
and the returning SVC Player of the Year Colton
Forcum shot a 79 to lead his Unioto squad to a
winning team score of 343. Zane Trace finished in
second place 22 shots back of the Tanks. All eight
SVC schools were in action as the league prepares to
open league play at Dogwood on Tuesday.
LADY MUSTANGS TAKE SECOND
Westfall shot a 362 to finish second at the Black Lake Wood Golf Course. Breanna Post carded a 77 to lead the Lady Mustangs.

Several SVC golfers posted rounds in the 70s on Saturday, but the story of this day was a pair of
Shermans going under par - including one in the 60s - as Unioto carded a team score under 300 to win
the tournament.

IN GIRLS, the Lady Mustangs had no trouble capturing the team title as their 345 team score was more than 100 shots better than
second-place Circleville. Sunny Stewart's round of 79 was the best round of the day followed by teammate Breanna Post with an
81. The only other SVC team in action was ZT. The Lady Pioneers shot a 553. ZT's top score was carded by Kirsten Kane with a
131.

IN BOYS, Westfall was the runner-up finisher behind Tree of Life. The Mustangs posted a team score of 371 40 shots off Tree of
Life's 341. Andrew Pettenski led Westfall with a round of 84. Other SVC teams in the field included Zane Trace. The Pioneers shot
a 386 to finish fifth. They were led by Nate Newman's 88. Huntington was also in action as the Huntsmen shot a 425 led by Shania
Irvin's 90.

Unioto wins Division-II
Sectional Title
After finishing a perfect league season last week, Unioto captured the D-II sectional championship
Tuesday at Jaycees. Sam Calvin led the way for the Shermans with a tournament-low 74. Colton
Forcum added a 78, Caleb Cushing shot an 82, and Hunter Brown carded an 88 to round out the
championship score of 322.

Westfall and Zane Trace failed to qualify; however, Westfall's Andrew Pettenski carded an 84 to
advance to the districts as an individual.
Unioto, as well as Pettenski, will play at Pickaway
Country Club on Wednesday, October 3rd.
D-III BOYS: Adena's Cooper advances
In Wednesday's D-III sectional golf tournament at Jaycees, Adena's Peyton Cooper shot an 81 to
qualify for next week's districts. Adena's team, which also included rounds of 89 from Hunter Miller
and Shad Dailey, failed by one spot in terms of finishing in the necessary top two spots. Adena's third-
place finish, with a score of 358, was nine shots off second place Waterford. Belpre took the title.

It was a tough day for the rest of the SVC. Huntington, Paint Valley, and Southeastern also
failed to qualify. Paint Valley’s Tyler Thompson shot an 86 while SE's Eli McKee carded a
90.
DISTRICT GOLF
On a day where the top three teams were heading to the State, the Westfall Lady Mustangs posted a
team score of 360 to finish as the District Runner-Up nine shots back of champion Logan Elm.

Sunny Stewart led the way for Westfall with an 80. Breanna Post shot an 89 and the team score was
finalized with a 95 from Mary Roush and a 96 from Erin Roush. Also playing for the repeat State
qualifiers was Devonah Kaiser. Kaiser shot a 101.

The top three individuals (not on one of the three qualifying teams) also punched tickets to the State.
Unfortunately, Huntington's Shania Irvin's 82 was one shot short of State.
Tues 10/2 = Adena's Peyton Cooper shot a 91...failed to qualify for State
UNIOTO WINS DISTRICT TITLE
The Unioto Shermans carded four solid rounds led by Sam Calvin's 79 and SVC
Player of the Year Colton Forcum's 80 as the purple and gold shot a team total
of 328 to win the D-II District Championship. Rounding out the championship
total was Caleb Cushing with an 84 and Trent Hutson with an 85. Unioto's No. 5,
Hunter Brown, shot a 90.

Unioto's total was two better than runner-up Chesapeake as both will advance to
next week's State Tournament.
Individually, Westfall's Andrew Pettenski failed to
qualify as he finished with a round of 89. Pettenski, just a sophomore, finishes
the season as the league's sixth best golfer and a district qualifier.

are in second place  just two shots back of Sandusky Perkins.

2012 STATE TOURNAMENT
DAY TWO
GIRLS – The Westfall Lady Mustangs had another impressive showing in Day 2 of the State Tournament. Westfall’s 356
was good enough to give them a third-place finish in the final team standings. Westfall’s Breanna Post finished All-Ohio as her
79 brought her two-day total to 155. Post finished the tournament in fourth-place individually. Other Westfall scoring in Day 2
included:
