A year ago, Huntingotn's Duane Irvin captured the Player
of the Year in the Scioto Valley Conference, but he
followed that incredible regular season with a postseason
that did not match his expectations. This year, Ivin's
senior season that resulted in another league POY honor,
is now going to continue well into October as Irvin carded
a round of 81 in Monday's District Tournament to secure
a spot in next week's Division III State Golf Tournament
at the Northstar Golf Club in Sunbury, Ohio. Irvin was
the only SVC golfer on the boys' side to advance.
