Unioto falls four strokes shy of state; Tough day for SVC in Pickaway County
Logan Elm's 330 captured the district title and Ironton shot a 331 to take the second spot at state next week leaving Unioto and their 335 on the outside looking in at next week's field. Westfall finished seventh with a team score of 350. No SVC individual qualified.

Huntington in action at Districts
The Huntington golf team failed to qualify for this year's state tournament. The individuals also failed to qualify bringing the 2009 season to an end for the Huntsmen.

WF TEAM, ZT'S SCHAMBS CONTINUE TO WIN
BOYS FINISH SECOND TO AMANDA
Sunny Stewart (91), Madison Newsome (107), Jessica Rhoades (111), and Erin Roush (112) combined to give Westfall the winning score of 421. ZT's Michele Schambs shot a medal round of 83 on the Par 74 course.
Drew Davis shot a 78 and Jordan Long carded an 80 to lift Zane Trace to a second-place finish behind Amanda. The Pioneers posted a team score of 338 on the Par 72 track at Jaycees.

ZT's Schambs fires school record round to take medal honor - WF wins team!
Michelle Schambs of ZT shot a 34 Wednesday night at Running Fox to set a new girls' school record. Southeastern's Abby Magill carded a 43 - the second best score of the night. Westfall was the only full team. The Mustangs shot a 189 led by Sunny Stewart's 45.
NICE NON-LEAGUE WIN FOR SHERMANS BEFORE GETTING BACK INTO SVC PLAY THURSDAY
Unioto shot a 165 to defeat Canal Winchester by three shots Wednesday night. Freshman Colton Forcum shot a low round of 38 to lead the Tanks. Unioto returns to Scioto Valley Conference play tomorrow night at Jaycees. Check back to SVCsportszone.com for a complete recap of tomorrow's action.

The leader in the current race for SVC Player of the Year Duane Irvin shot a 37 Tuesday night to help Huntington to a second-place finish behind Jackson. Huntington defeated Chillicothe and Southeastern.
Unioto spent Tuesday night getting ready for Thursday's SVC Match #6 and they did so finishing way out in front of a quad match that included Zane Trace, Westfall, and Piketon. Drew Nichols and Dallas Johnson both shot a round of 40 to lead the Shermans and to share match medalist.

Boys: Drew Nichols shot a 39 to lead Unioto over Chesapeake, Jackson and Chillicothe. In other action Duane Irvin shot a 40 as Huntington beat PV.
Girls: Westfall beat Madison Plains 194-262.
Unioto's Michael Smart shot a 38 to lead Unioto to a win over Huntington and Adena. In girls' action, Westfall's Sunny Stewart shot a medal round of 48 to lift the Lady Mustangs over Madison Plains.

Zane Trace's Jordan Long fired a 37 and teammate Drew Davis carded a 38 as the Pioneers shot a 157 - four better than Unioto's 161 in Tuesday's tune-up round for Wednesday's league match. Westfall's Clint Boring joined Long for match medalist with a 37 of his own. Unioto's Colton Forcum shot a 38. Rounding out the team scoring was Westfall with a 165 and Piketon with a 181.

Huntington continues to get great play at the top of their line-up, but they also continue to struggle to put four scores together. Friday, Duane Irvin and Zach Thompson each shot 36; however, Huntington still only managed to shoot 162 - two shots behind the winning team, Zane Trace. The Pioneers had a great balance as Drew Davis fired a 37 to lead a squad that shot 43 or better all the way through the line-up.

On the individual side of things, Southeastern's Tyler Osborne shot a 35 to win medalist honors. Teammate Ben Davis carded a 41.
