Lady Tanks Roll
After stumbling out of the gate to an 0-3 start, Ashley Jordan and the Lady Warriors had a breakout performance Thursday night at Paint Valley. Jordan scored 13 of her 21 points in the first period to lead Adena to a 51-31 victory. Sophomores Kelsey Bielanow and Brytan Givens both scored 12 points.

The foul line played a big role in the game as Adena knocked down 17-of-25 (Givens was 8-of-10) while the Bearcats made only 7-of-18.

For PV in the loss, sophomore Dacia Posey scored 11 points and grabbed five boards. Erica Barker scored nine points, pulled down eight boards, and dished out six assists. The Bearcats are now 0-2 in the SVC and 2-2 overall.

Four Unioto Lady Shermans scored in double figures to lead the Tanks to an 86-26 girls basketball win over the Westfall Lady Mustangs on Thursday in Scioto Valley Conference play.

The win, coming in front of a fine opening night crowd at home for Unioto, improved the Lady Shermans to 3-0 overall and to 2-0 in the Scioto Valley Conference.

The early message is clear -- the SVC girls' title passes through Unioto this season. If you want to win it, you've got to beat the Tanks.

Sophomore Janae Driggs led the balanced UHS attack with 17 points. Senior Shiann Ray, who is bound for Ashland University on a basketball scholarship, contributed 15 points and seven assists.

Senior Taylor Corcoran added 13 points and sophomore pivot Mackenzie Arledge nailed 10 points and 14 rebounds to lead the winners.

For Westfall, Jess Shannon scored six points while Makenzie Wippel scored five points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Unioto hosts Southeastern in girls' play on Saturday while Westfall visits Piketon.
Neighbors scores 25 to lead Huntington
ZT wins big at SE
Huntington guard Bridgette Neighbors scored 25 points to lead the green and white to a 62-49 conference win on the road at Piketon Thursday evening.

Zane Trace got 17 points and eight rebounds from sophomore Erin Dailey as the Lady Pioneers had no problem at SE winnig 70-27.
