Ross & other SVC athletes earn honors for efforts in classroom and on course
Adrian Ross from Unioto has been selected to represent Ohio in a major national regional meet of champions this year by the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches Association.

He is the first Unioto cross country athlete ever selected for Team Ohio for this meet. It will be held in Kettering, Ohio in conjunction with the State Cross Country Coaches Conference next weekend. Several All-Americans and at least two former American record holders have participated in this meet which has the best runners from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois.

In other cross country news, five athletes out of seven on the varsity for Unioto received Academic All-Ohio honors for cross country. Unioto has never had this many. The requirement is a 3.5 GPA and the student-athlete must qualify for state meet.

Adrian Ross, Jeremy Sandusky, Ethan Richter, Brenson Zambarrano, and Alex Wynn were the five Unioto runners. The entire Zane Trace girls’ team earned this honor as well. The ZT girls include Stephanie Glass, Emily Joosse, Taylor Hatfield, Rachel Barnitz, Eva Bugg, Jessie Proehl, and Cecelia Wallace. As for Ross, he had his entire Unioto team with him as the Shermans entered as the district champions. Unioto finished third in the regional, and they will advance to the State Cross Country Meet next week.
