Zane Trace's Taylor Hatfield won the Rio Grande Invitational with a time of 19:35!
The Unioto Cross Country Teams competed in the Lancaster Invitational this weekend.  This is one of  the biggest all Division II races in Ohio each year and the biggest we attend with four of the top 15 teams in the state attending this year for both the boys and girls.

The Unioto Boys were 3rd behind 3 time defending state chamions and state number 1 Penninsula Woodridge and defending Regional Champion St. Clairsville.  The boys ran the fastest average time ever run by a Unioto team on the course at 17:02.  There were 30 teams in the field.

Unioto runner Adrian Ross moved within 20 seconds of the school record finishing 2nd overall in 15:48.  He broke the Unioto course record held by Galen Dills of 16:30.  Ryan Valentine was 9th overall and also broke the previous course record with a time of 16:24.  This moves him into third all-time for Unioto.
Personal records were also set by Zane Taylor, Ethan Poe, and Anthony Edwards on the varsity.

The girls were 11th of thirty teams with freshman Mallory Retherford leading the way in a personal record of 21:00.   She was followed by Miriah Park (21:30), Abby Oyer (22::45), Sarah Wolford (22:46), and Taylor Barillaro (23:11).  Their average for Lancaster was also a school record in 22:15.

Unioto boys and girls took on an elite field at Teays Valley Saturday. Many of the other programs were over at Southeastern for the Aaron Reed Memorial Cross Country Invite. SVCsportszone has a recap of Unioto's day and the complete results from Southeastern in the high school boys' race, the high school girls' race, the boys' junior high race, and the junior high girls' race.

Bearcat boys capture fourth invite title; Piketon boys & girls finish 2nd at home
Paint Valley's Logan Krivak continued to better his own school record with his latest best time being his winning time of 17:04 at Tuesday's Westfall Invite. Joining Krivak on the winning Paint Valley team was Nick Gardner who finished second in 17:30. Logan Markko (6th, 18:11), Riley Markko (13th, 19:12), and Daniel Garnder (15th, 19:18) rounded out the Bearcats.

On the girls' side, Taylor Hatfield continued her dominate season with another win. Teammates Kayla Coder finished 12th overall with a personal-best. Sierra Sigman also posted a personal-best time of 25:32.

At Piketon Tuesday night, both the boys and girls from Piketon finished second in a 10-team meet. Dakoda Osborn finished third at 18:09 to lead the boys while Megan Day (4th) and Elisha Manley (5th) were the leading runners for the girls. Team winners were Ironton on the boys' side and the Chillicothe girls.

Unioto's boys cross country team shows up No. 8 in the first release of the Division II cross country state rankings. The Shermans were the only SVC team in the first release.

*Ryan Valentine ran a 16:31 to finish fourth

GIRLS
*Mallory Retherford ran a 21:43 - the second fastest Unioto time in history at Circleville
PV HS Boys won 1st Place.  Westfall HS Boys 2nd Place.  Chillicothe HS Girls won 1st Place.

Results from Shawnee State Friday Night
Bearcat Boys Win Again!
Six teams ran at Shawnee State Friday night and the boys from Paint Valley finished the evening atop the standings. Logan Krivak broke his own school record running a time of 17:13 as he crossed the line second overall. Nick Gardner finished fourth at 17:45 and Logan Markko finished fifth at 18:00.

The Piant Valley girls finished second. They were led by Kalyn Alkire who finished 8th at 25:53.
