The SVC Cross Country Championships were held Saturday at Unioto High School. Unioto swept the
Varsity titles placing 1,2 overall in the boys and 5 of the top 9 girls. The girls average time of 21:30 is a
school record, and the boys average of 17:03 is the third fastest ever for the boys team.

The Unioto boys are ranked 9th in the state in DII this week in the state coaches poll,

Individual champions were Adrian Ross from Unioto in 15:48 and Taylor Hatfield from Zane Trace in
18:41.

The time from Ross is the 4th fastest time in Ohio this year in DII Boys, and the time for Hatfield is 4th
fastest for Ohio in DII girls. Both made all-Ohio last year as freshmen.

Boys runner-up Ryan Valentine also posted a state top 25 time and a personal record of 16:16. This
moves him into 21st in Ohio. He was all-Ohio in track last year as well.

In the JH races, Unioto's Ethan Richter continued his winning ways posting an 11:51 to win followed by
teammate Quinten Sparks in 12:14. Ethan has now won the Zane Trace, Piketon, Teays Valley, and Ross
County Invitationals.

In the team race, Zane Trace and Unioto tied for the team title in score (36-36), but Zane Trace
won on the sixth man tie-breaker.

Zane Trace's Kinnedy Hatfield (13:30) and Cecelia Wallace (13:54) matched the Unioto feat in the JHG
race with a 1,2 finish of their own. They led their team to an easy win in the race 19-38 over Westfall.
