Scarlet Course (Par 71)
Round One (Friday)…43-40 = 83
Zane Trace’s Caleb Arnold started on the back nine Friday. The back nine, a Par 35 side, saw the SVC POY card
five pars, but a double-bogey six on the Par 4, 11th Hole cost Arnold a chance to stay in the 30s.
As he moved to the front side (his back nine), it was a double bogey on the Par 5, 7th Hole that hurt Arnold on the
first day. Sitting at six-over through six, Arnold was able to par two of the final three holes to save a 43. All totaled,
Arnold posted a 12-over par round of 83. He was in 32nd place after the opening round.
Round Two (Saturday)…47-45 = 92
On the second day, Arnold’s round once again started on the back side. It was a tough start for the junior, but he
did manage to finish with a par-birdie finish to card a 45. The front side offered a difficult finish for Arnold as he
carded just one par to complete the 92 and a 48th place finish.
Even with the tough second day at the extremely difficult Scarlet Course, Arnold should be proud to look back on a
year that includes SVC and District Player of the Year honors as well as a trip to the State Tournament. Again,
Arnold is just a junior, so he will look for another great off-season (his work a year ago saw him not only be our
league’s best player, but probably the most improved as well). SVCsportszone.com would like to say congrats to
Caleb on a great season!
