SCIOTO VALLEY CONFERENCE = BOYS BASKETBALL = Tuesday, January 20th
Huntington
upsets
Piketon
Huntington was able to keep the
tempo slow for most of the game
Tuesday night as the SVC's top
defensive team held the
high-powered Piketon offense in
check during a 55-45 upset victory.

Piketon was able to get the tempo
faster for a short time in the third
period; however, a Huntington
timeout sparked a short run for the
Huntsmen that left Piketon in
serious foul trouble entering the
fourth quarter.

On the offensive end, Huntington
had great balance. Derick Clark
scored 15 points and pulled down
13 boards while Drew Trusty also
scored 15 points and grabbed 9
rebounds. Corey Cottrill scored 11
points and had 10 rebounds and
Craig Magill scored 10 points and
dished out 5 assists.

For Piketon, Jordan Brabson and
Cody Smith both scored 11 points
and Evan Legg added 10 points.

Clay Roll continued his dominate

dropped 26 points on PV in a
63-50 victory. Zach Skaggs
added 13 points and seven
rebounds for the Warriors.

In the loss, Matt Workman
scored 24 points and pulled down
12 rebounds. Workman was the
only Bearcat in double-figures.
Unioto played the Mustangs tough for three quarters trailing only
13-10 after one, 22-15 at the break, and 34-26 after three, but a
21-11 fourth quarter helped Westfall put the Shermans away for
good. The win puts Westfall all alone in first place and the Mustangs
will welcome Piketon Friday night.

For Westfall in the win, Bryant Gibson scored 18 points. Tyler
Kritsch added 10 points and 11 rebounds while Tyler Cobb scored
six points, grabbed eight rebounds, and recorded six steals.

In the loss for Unioto, Alex Kimsey continued his solid senior season
