Southeastern's Jordan Elam
Zane Trace's Taylor Hatfield
The all-around Southeastern
star showed off all of his skills
Friday night as he rushed 11
times for 115 yards and two
touchdowns. Elam also threw
a touchdown, scored a
defensive touchdown, and
scored on special teams as
well. The five touchdown
peformance helped lead SE to
its third win of the season as
the Panthers defeated Unioto
After just missing this honor the
past two weeks, the Zane Trace
frehsman ran herself to the
winner's circle this week.
Hatfield, who had already won
the Ross County Meet and the
Scioto Valley Conference Meet,
ran to a second-place finish at
Rio Grande this week in the
district meet. The run led her
Lady Pioneers to a third-place
team finish which was enough to
qualify for next week's regionals.
Adrian Ross, Unioto (CC): The SVC
champion also became the district
champion in a week that would almost
always get him in the winner's cirlce if
not for the incredible performance of
this week's winner.
D.J. Cain, WF (Football): The
Westfall signal-caller rushed 15 times
for 177 yards and two scores while
throwing for another 141 yards and
two scores. The most impressive stat
for Cain is 20-3 - Cain's record now as
the Westfall starter.
Kirk Maxwell, ZT (Football): The ZT
quarterback had a hand in all four of
Zane Trace's touchdowns Friday night.
Maxwell threw three and ran for one
Gabe Haynes, ZT (Football): In the
emails nominating Kirk this week, most
people included the one who caught
the passes as well. Haynes had six
catches for 94 yards and three TDs.

Suzy Gantz, WF (Volleyball): The
Westfall junior had 19 kills, 4 solo
blocks, and 12 digs to lead her Lady
Mustangs to a sectional championship
straight set win over West Union.
Danielle Ball, SE (CC): Ball ran to a
fifth-place finish in the district meet at
Rio Grande to help the Lady Panthers to
a fourth-place team finish - a finish that
allows them to advance to next week's
Katelyn Jinks, Unioto (Volleyball):
The senior recorded 15 kills, 20 digs,
and 4 blocks in Unioto's four-set,
sectional semifinal win over Gallia.
Kaitlin Duarte, SE (Volleyball): The
junior setter dished out over 50 total
assists in wins over Wellston and
Trimble to help the Lady Panthers
capture a sectional championship.
Megan Purdin, Adena (Volleyball):
The senior captain recorded a
school-record 12 aces in Adena's
sectional championship win over PV.
