Adena beats Valley to advance
Lady Warriors to meet Oak Hill for title
The Adena Lady Warriors entered Thursday night’s
district semifinal at Waverly as one of the hottest teams in
the area. Their opponent, Lucasville Valley, had beaten
them 54-47 back on January 23rd, but this time around it
was all Adena. The two-shade blue scored the game’s
first 13 points and had control of the game throughout on
their way to a 46-30 victory.

A big key for Adena continues to be the emergence of
Autumn Smith. Smith helped Adena get off to the fast start
scoring eight of her team-high 17 points in the first quarter.
The final total on the glass also played a big part. Adena
enjoyed a 29-19 advantage led by Kirsti Yates who had 13
rebounds to go with her nine points.

The Lady Warriors will now have over a week off as they
will not play for the district championship until next Saturday
(3/6). Adena will play Oak Hill. The Lady Oaks beat Eastern
Brown in Thursday’s first game 51-40. Adena and Oak
Hill met back in December with Oak Hill winning 67-32.
Round two will take place for a district title at The Convo in
