PV Pair of Titles, Ross a Runner-up, Chaney third
It is the ultimate prize in terms of high
school sports…a state championship.
This is a title that is now owned by
Paint Valley’s Taylor Baker.
Baker, just a sophomore, tossed the
discus 138’00 to capture the
Division III State Championship.
Baker also finished fifth in the shot.

Less than 24 hours later, Paint Valley
senior Daniel Gardner made it two
state championships for the Bearcats
as Gardner scorched the eight-lap race
in 9:26.21 to win the D-III 3200 State

Unioto’s Adrian Ross capped off
an incredible career with a second-
place finish in the D-II 1600. Ross
also advanced to the state finals in the
800 as he took 11th in that event.

cleared 14-4 in the pole vault to take a
third-place finish in Division III.
