Chaminade Julienne simply had way too much on offense Saturday night as the Eagles eliminated the Westfall Mustangs from the Division IV playoffs with a 63-13 final score in this regional quarterfinal battle.

The Eagles scored early and often as they showed a variety of athletic weapons. Touchdowns came on long runs, long passes, a punt return, and at one point a defensive score with a pick-six. The Mustangs were down 15-0 after one quarter, and then 36-0 at the half.

Even though the Mustangs had trouble containing the high-powered Chaminade-Julienne offense, the Westfall offense was not in over their heads at all. They actually had success moving the football, but several drives resulted in a turnover on downs in CJ territory. The Mustangs recorded 21 first downs on the night, and they finally put a scoring drive together that covered 18 plays with the score coming on a fourth-and-goal from the four when quarterback Trent Williamson faked the QB draw and threw a jump pass to Jon Thomas in the end zone. The Tyler Conger PAT was good. Westfall later added another score on a Seth Sias 15-yard TD run.

On the night, Williamson threw for 137 yards and ran for another 114. The Mustangs rushed for 199 as a team and gained a total of 336. The Mustangs finish the season at 8-3. Westfall had won eight straight including a gold ball SVC championship after losing its first two games of the season.
