| Southeastern falls one shot short of advancing...Davis does advance as an individual | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| D-III Sectional at Jaycees: Southeastern would have won on the fifth score over Waterford, but the Panthers finished just one stroke back. Belpre won the title with a 339 and Waterford finished at 349 - with SE at 350. One bright spot for Southeastern comes with Ben Davis shooting 80 - a round that was tied for the low round of the day - to advance individually to Tuesday's (October 4th) District at Pickaway Country Club. Paint Valley's Tyler Thompson looked like he was on his way to the next round after shooting a 39 on the front, but a 45 on the way in put the sophomore at 84 - four shots off Davis and Crooksville's Caleb Jago. Erik Addy posted Huntington's best score with a 94, and Adena's best round came from Auston Hottinger who like Thompson shot an 84. Hottinger shot 42 on both sides. Adena's Austin Dennis joined Thompson and Jago as the only two players to go out in 39, but he carded a 50 on the back to shoot 89. Southeastern's total after Davis included Layton Ackley at 87, Kannon Strausbaugh at 91, and Eli McKee at 92. |
