FULTZ FROM TONIGHT'S
HUNTINGTON/ZT GAME
The Zane Trace
defensive pitched
the shutout.
Huntington best
chance of scoring
resulted in a goal
line stand for the
Pioneers. One play
later, Matt Marnell
went 94 yards for
the score. Marnell
rushed 17 times on
the night for 197
yards.
Southeastern's defense
forced two first half
turnovers to help the
Panthers to a 14-7
halftime lead. Westfall
scored twice to start the
second half.
Southeastern then
scored to cut the lead to
21-20. Westfall
answered to go up 27-20
(PAT was blocked).
After a SE score with
over four minutes to a
play, the two-point try
failed. SE did get the ball
back but turned it over
on downs. After SE's
final timeout, Westfall
converted on
fourth-and-one, but
instead of falling to the
ground and then using
two victory formations
to end the game,
Westfall continued into
the end zone. The PAT
would have made it only
an eight point game, but
WF completed a jump
pass for two to go up
nine.
Unioto went up 7-0 on
a 60-yard pass play
from Brick Davis to
Storm Cottrill, but
Piketon answered with
three Trevor McDowell
TDs (one catch, two
runs) to go up 21-7 at
haltime. McDowell
added a fourth score
after halftime while
teammate Robbie
Evans found the end
zone as well.
