Deep kickoffs, great defense, and a quick
strike offense...that was the formula for
ZT Friday night. Pionners scored on the
first five possessions. Overall, Kirk
Maxwell and Ben Jones scored twice while
Derek Cochenour and Bobby Cowman
both added one.
Cody Strange caught a
Quentin Detillion pass for the only Unioto
score.
Playing without Tyler Tackett, Piketon turned to Caleb Southworth
and the senior star provided 73 yards rushing and 108 yards
receiving including an 8-yd TD run to get the scoring started Friday
night. Quarterback Jordan Miller threw for 178 yards on seven of
nine throwing. Piketon improves to 4-1 in the SVC and 5-3 overall.
Westfall outscored Adena 18-0 after
halftime while allowing zero first downs
to Adena in the second half.  Vinnie
Williamson threw for 305 yards and
three scores including two to Nick
Hammond. Hammond caught six balls
for 144 yards. Jake Cantrell added five
catches for 102 yards.
Adena ran the
ball 48 times for nearly 200 yards;
however, most of those coming beore
halftime.
Paint Valley was celebrating 50
years of football Friday night, and
they did so with a quick start on their
way to a big win. Wes Parker rushed
for over 100 yards on just seven
touches. Parker scored two
touchdowns while Ben Krech, Garett
Tyree, Adam Copper, and Jordan
Ott all added scores as well.
