| Adena’s balanced attack was simply too much for Westfall to handle in Saturday night’s Division III district title match. The Lady Mustangs were able to hang tough in the early going; however, a 10-5 run to end set one and an 18-5 spurt in game two set the table for a straight set win for the Lady Warriors 25-17, 25-11, 25-12. Adena’s balance was quarterbacked by Hannah Halcomb. The 5-1 Adena setter dished out 44 assists as Kelsey Bielanow (15 kills), Allison Morgan (11 kills), Olivia Arledge (9 kills), and Jenny Grigsby (8 kills) all enjoyed nice nights at the net.
For Westfall (12-12), Olivia Cobb recorded 11 kills, nine assists, and nine digs. The Lady Mustangs had three seniors play their final match Saturday night. The Westfall trio includes Makenzie Wippel, Abby Self, and Rachel Seligh. The win pushes Adena (23-2) back to the Sweet 16 this Wednesday night. |
